Tinora Advances to State with 48–36 Win Over Archbold in Girls Regional Dual Final

Defiance, Ohio — Tinora punched its ticket to the OHSAA Girls State Duals on Saturday with a hard-fought 48–36 victory over Archbold in the regional finals at Tinora High School.

The dual featured several momentum-swinging matches, with Tinora delivering key pins when it mattered most to secure the team win and advance to state.

One of the biggest moments of the night came at 110 pounds, where freshman Teagan Holbrook (Tinora) pulled off an upset, pinning junior Jerica Sprague (Archbold) at 3:33. The win gave Tinora a crucial six points and shifted the energy of the dual.

Tinora followed that performance with another pivotal victory at 115 pounds, as sophomore Azlyn Pagan earned a win by fall over Jassana Gonzalez (Archbold) in 1:41, continuing Tinora’s run of bonus-point victories.

Perhaps the most competitive match of the day came at 140 pounds, where sophomore Avah Spencer (Tinora) battled through a tough contest before securing a pin at 5:13 over freshman Taeya Moyer (Archbold). The match stood out as one of the best of the regional final and helped seal the dual in Tinora’s favor.

Tinora also picked up pins from Addilyn Delarber (125), Scout Temple (135), and Paige Gamby (190), along with multiple forfeit victories that proved decisive in the final team score.

With the win, Tinora advances to the OHSAA Girls State Duals, set for Saturday, February 14, at Marysville High School, where they will compete for a state title.
